A humble girl who was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Florida, Lauren Anderson reached the pinnacle of the the modeling industry in 2002—gracing the cover of Playboy—but it never changed her.
Though she had already been featured in Playboy in 2001, as part of the “Girls of the SEC” pictorial, Anderson was surprised that she was chosen as Miss July the following year.
“I was a senior at the University of Florida studying to be a veterinarian when I became a Playmate,” said Anderson, who will appear at “The Big Event” in East Elmhurst, N.Y. on March 2. “It was unexpected.”
The blonde beauty shocked herself by winning a Fox reality show called “Who Wants to Be a Playboy Centerfold?”
Predictably, her appearance in the magazine was life-changing.
“Everything changed,” said the Playmate. “I had a lot of trouble continuing my education (at Florida) while also being in Los Angeles, so I chose to go ahead and move to the West Coast.”
For Anderson, she never fully got used to the fame that comes with being a Playboy Bunny.
“[It's] very surreal,” she said. “Every time I’ve seen myself on T.V. or in a magazine, it does not seem like I’m looking at [myself]. It’s hard to describe. I’m a very normal girl, so all of that glamour stuff doesn’t really fit me well. It’s very exciting, though.”
The busty blonde prides herself on not letting the fame go to her head.
“I’ve never allowed the hype of Hollywood change who I and what I stand for,” said Anderson. “I’ve kept my morals in tact, which was very important to me. I’m still the same person I was before Playboy came calling.
Outside of modeling, Anderson is a successful entrepreneur. She owns a medical spa/tanning salon in Gainesville called LAE Beauty Tanning and MediSpa
“We believe in helping people feel and look as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside,” said the businesswoman. “It’s a very cool, positive place for men and women.”
Anderson also has recently published a best-selling book, Making It In High Heels 3, in which she authored one chapter. The book is written for young women by women who have had success even through difficult times and struggles.
This is the first time fans will have the chance to meet Anderson at a convention like “The Big Event”, and the 5’9″ stunner is looking forward to it.
“I enjoy meeting anyone that’s excited to meet me,” she said. “It’s always fun when fans bring photos that I’ve never seen.
“I’ve never been to this event so I really don’t know what to expect myself. I’m excited to go and see what its all about.”
