NFC Champions!!!

What an exciting game and how appropriate for this season! A close, OT game on the road won by the Giants 23-20 over the Green Bay Packers at frozen Lambeau Field. (Anybody notice that the cold made the helmet decals so brittle they were breaking off?) The New York Giants continue to persevere and play solid football in winning their record 10th straight road game. This has been a wonderful playoff run.

The team was led by a huge performance yesterday from Plaxico Burress. Plaxico had 11 receptions for 154 yards, drew penalties and was seemingly open on every play. We had Plaxico at a signing back in early December and have a number of items that he autographed at that show for sale in the store, both Giants and Michigan State.

Another hero in the game was Corey Webster, who had the interception in OT which set up Lawrence Tyne’s game winning 47-yard field goal. We had Corey last year and still have some photos of his left for sale.

The two headed monster in the backfield, Ahmad Bradshaw (16 for 63 rushing, 1 for 9 receiving) and Brandon Jacobs (21 for 67, 1 for 8) kept chewing up yardage and the clock in a game where the conditions were not great for passing. We’ve had both Bradshaw and Jacobs at past shows and have signed items for both available. Bradshaw’s items are rapidly selling and may be gone soon.

Bradshaw and Jacobs have made everyone forget about Tiki Barber. Speaking of Tiki, we have his autographed book for sale in the store. And Bradshaw is getting playing time because of the season-ending injury to Derrick Ward, who we also had this season.

Rookie Steve Smith was another player who made big contributions in the game. We had him early in the season and you can find his Giants and USC items in the store.

On the defensive side of the ball, the team was led by a number of players we’ve had in the past, including Antonio Pierce (6 unassisted tackles [including one huge game saving tackle while fending off a blocker], 0 assists) , Gibril Wilson (5-3), James Butler (4-2, an exclusive athlete of ours), Justin Tuck (3-1, who will also be at our upcoming March 9th Giants Spectacular Extravaganza Show).

We’re looking forward to a Super Bowl XLII to remember…Go Big Blue!
