I’ve been in the pro wrestling business since 1992. By 1997, I had worked my way into a job with WCW. It was at that point where I legitimately earned the opportunity to work with some of my childhood heroes. One of them being, “Macho Man” Randy Savage.
Over the last decade since the demise of WCW – and with the exception of a cameo in the first Spider-Man film, a Joaquin Phoenix type effort at making a rap album and a flash-in-the-pan run in TNA Wrestling – Savage has been MIA. In 2010, Savage quietly reappeared on the scene looking like Santa Claus on crack, as he walked the aisle of marriage and announced that he had finally signed a legends contract that would allow the WWE toymakers to produce his much anticipated action figures.
Now the Macho Man returns! Still white and snowy – but a little more beefy, to announce that he will be added to the upcoming WWE All Stars video game scheduled for release around Wrestlemania time, March 29, 2011. Could this lead to a long overdue induction into the WWE Hall of Fame? After all, Bret Hart made a WWE comeback. Only time will tell. But for now, we can all shout in unison, “Oooooooh Yeeeeeeeeeah!”
